Accessibility statement for northwestsde.nhs.uk

This accessibility statement applies to the North West Secure Data Environment (NWSDE) website: northwestsde.nhs.uk.

The website is owned and managed by the Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and is hosted by NHS Midlands and Lancashire (NHS ML) and Arden and Greater East Midlands (AGEM) Commissioning Support Units (CSUs).

We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website and we have designed it to be accessible. This means that you should be able to:

  • Change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings
  • zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using a keyboard or speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and Voiceover).

We’ve also tried to make the website text as simple as possible to understand.

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

Technical information about this website’s accessibility

The NWSDE is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Compliance status

This website is compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 AA standard.

Non-accessible content

Items which may affect the accessibility of this website include:

  • Some older PDFs may not be fully accessible to screen reader software.

Content that is not within the scope of the accessibility regulations

PDFs and other documents

Older PDFs may not meet accessibility standards. The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they’re not essential to providing our services. If these exist, we do have plans to remove or replace some of the PDFs with more accessible content alternatives. Wherever possible, we avoid PDFs. Instead, we create content as structured web pages in HTML.

Videos

Older videos may not meet accessibility standards because they do not have captions. The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix videos published before 23 September 2020. If these exist, we are working to add captions to the most popular older videos.

From external websites

Some parts of this site link to or use content provided by other websites and we cannot guarantee that these resources are fully accessible.
